My name is Amy Castongia. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Board Certified Telemental Health Provider (BC-TMC) specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, emotional eating, and body image issues. I am also passionate about treating teens and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, self esteem issues, stress, school/work issues, anger management, peer relationships, and life transitions. In counseling, I help my clients identify strengths within themselves and develop self-awareness. My primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). With compassion and understanding, I work with each client to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. I received my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir Rhyne University and my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University. Growing up I always had a passion for helping others. My main goal is to help you understand why you think, feel, and behave as you do. You and I will work together to help you take back control of your life and live again.
