Interestingly, I have been on medication for my bipolar and anxiety disorders for two and a half years now. Up until three months ago, my mental health was always still up and down at times. In the past three months, I have been drinking Kombucha 3 times a week and reading a self help book a month. After a while, the books blend together. But I really believe that the Kombucha and books have changed my life. My mood is *almost* completely stable. I would have never imagined. I have learned to balance my mood and deal with my emotions over the years, but this is a new level. I have not changed medication or professional help. A fantastic way of healing....

This is really interesting. Do you think its just simply the lifestyle change that is helping? Or do you think its actually playing a role in the way your body functions? I drink Kambucha when I have a stomach ache or just not feeling well overall and I enjoy the effects that it has on my body. It helps settle me down and make me feel a bit more balanced. I love that its helping you feel better.
Any self help book recommendations?
Daniella, this is fantastic. We're just scratching the surface on the science of the microbiome (bacteria in our guts) and the complex and dynamic ways this affects our mental health. So wonderful to know that this is balancing for you. Hopefully in time we'll be able to figure out how to use probiotics to help others who might not respond to Kombucha -- for reasons we haven't figured out yet.
Thanks so much for sharing. Do you make your own Kombucha or buy certain brands?
Any tips you can offer others?
